Reddit is turning off RSS on November 13, 2026
On November 13, 2026, Reddit stops serving its native RSS feeds. If your reader, dashboard or automation pulls from a Reddit .rss link, it will go quiet on that day.
What stops working
Reddit's built-in RSS feeds are the links you get by adding .rss to a Reddit page. After the shutdown they no longer return posts. That covers:
- Subreddit feeds, such as
reddit.com/r/selfhosted/.rss - Sort variants of those feeds, such as new, top and hot
- Search feeds you built to follow a keyword or a product name
Nothing in your reader will warn you. A dead feed just stops getting new items, so most people notice weeks later, when they realise they missed a thread they cared about.
Who is affected
- Readers. Anyone who follows subreddits in Feedly, Inoreader, NetNewsWire, FreshRSS or a similar app.
- Automations. n8n, Zapier and Make workflows that trigger on a Reddit feed to post to Slack, log to a sheet or alert a team.
- Brand and product monitoring. Teams that watch Reddit for mentions of their product or their competitors.
Does your reader stop working?
It depends on how your reader gets Reddit. Open one of your Reddit sources and look at its address:
reddit.com/r/NAME/.rss, or anyreddit.comaddress that ends in.rss: this is the feed Reddit is withdrawing. It stops on November 13 whichever reader fetches it.api.reddit.comas the host: your reader uses Reddit's API instead. Those are expected to keep working until the API closes in March 2027.
| Reader | Status |
|---|---|
| Inoreader | Cannot fetch Reddit once the feeds stop. Its blog (Oct 1, 2026): "We can't confirm an alternative yet." |
| NetNewsWire, FreshRSS, Miniflux, Thunderbird | Fetch the .rss address themselves, so they stop on November 13. |
| Feedly | Reported to use Reddit's API rather than the feeds, so expected to continue until the API closes. |
| NewsBlur | Reported to be failing with 403 errors since October 13. |
Only the Inoreader row is from the vendor. The rest follows a third-party comparison from October 15, 2026, written by the maker of a competing reader, so check your own reader's announcement.
How to replace your feeds
- List the Reddit feeds you rely on today: which subreddits, and which searches.
- For each subreddit, create a feed on Redditrss. You get a private link that works in any RSS reader.
- Swap the old Reddit link for the new one in your reader or automation. Nothing else in your setup changes.
Redditrss refreshes feeds about every 30 minutes. One subreddit feed is free. The $19 a month plan adds unlimited subreddit feeds and 10 topic feeds.
Search feeds: why a plain replacement is not enough
Reddit search matches words, not meaning. A feed for "notion" returns posts about the product and posts about the notion of free will. A Redditrss topic feed starts from a keyword search, then an AI reads each result and keeps only the posts that are really about your topic. It is the closest thing to a clean version of the search feed you had before.
